Amy Meade serves as the Garden Manager for Southside Community Garden in Fort Worth, where she lives with her husband Evan and three children. She began growing vegetables in her front yard in 2012 while working as an elementary music teacher. Learning to grow food escalated quickly into a defining passion and belief that growing fresh produce close to home contributes to health and wellness in vital ways. Amy developed a vacant .5 acre lot vegetable garden for several years and grew hundreds of pounds of vegetables with friends and neighbors. She became a Tarrant County Master Gardener in 2020.

When Patrice Jones and Alison Pope established Southside Community Garden, Amy leapt at the chance to join the work of bringing more home gardens and food justice to Fort Worth.
